205 applications – this is the result of Our Monument II Competition in Kujawsko-Pomorskie and Łódzkie voivodeships. During the call for entries that lasted three weeks, the local societies sent us their ideas for the social function of palace and park complex in Kruszyna in Kujawsko-Pomorskie (111 applications) and Manor in Uniejów in Łódzkie (94 applications). Both of these objects were the winners in Our Monument I Competition.
Monument idea
Proper scout’s house, meeting place of local associations and Farmers’ Wives Associations, day intergenerational home, exhibitions of local artists’ works, even salt cave and brine pool. These are just a few examples of the ideas submitted by local societies for park and palace complex in Kruszyna and manor in Uniejów in Our Monument II Competition.
What is next?
The submitted ideas show the needs of local societies. The Foundation will analyze them all, and the final decision will be made together with the owner of the winning monument, upon consultation with the monuments conservator.
– Local societies centered around the palace and park complex in Kruszyna and the Manor in Uniejów have shown strong commitment but also creativity. Perhaps not all of the ideas will be possible to implement, yet the Foundation will be the inhabitants’ ambassador – Brygida Ślabska, the President of Most the Most foundation says, and emphasizes: it is important for us that after restoration the functions that the winning monuments will serve will be suited to the needs of local societies. Local residents were the trigger for positive changes and they will use these places for years to come.
After choosing the best ideas and signing contracts with the owners of the winning monuments, the Foundation will grant the financing for monuments restoration and adjusting them to the functions selected in the competition. The amount of financing may reach even PLN 1 000 000 for the monument.
Key to project implementation
Local societies from another regions have seen that the involvement in Our Monument competition makes sense. The monuments in Kruszyna and Uniejów won in I Competition, and the applicants may be proud of their actions. Now they had the opportunity to suggest ideas that will bring positive effects for their small motherlands. Active attitude of the inhabitants together with openness and readiness for cooperation of the monuments’ owners is the key to implementation of a valuable project. Together with the support from Most the Most Foundation they create excellent conditions for restoring the glory of the submitted monuments and for the implementation of great social initiatives.
