Over 140 applications – this is the result of the pilot Our Monument II Competition in Podlaskie and Lower Silesia voivodeships. During the call for entries that lasted three weeks, the local societies sent us their ideas for the social function of the Manor in Niećkowo in Podlasie (104 applications) and the Palace in Kiełczyn in Lower Silesia (38 applications). Both of these objects were the winners in Our Monument I Competition pilot.

Involving local societies – the key to project implementation

Since the beginning of “Our Monument” pilot competition we have been arguing that the participation in this initiative is the first step to create and implement your ideas that will bring positive effect for local societies. Most the Most Foundation is counting on triggering the energy and potential that is within each and one of us.

And this is happening. The meetings in which our Foundation’s representatives participated, showed that. They were organized by the owners of the winning monuments – Dzierżoniów Municipal Office and District Office in Grajewo. Openness and readiness for cooperation of the monuments’ owners is another crucial link in the implementation of “Our Monument” competition.

The meetings allowed the Foundation to establish relationships with both the inhabitants as well as the owners of the monuments. Exchanging ideas, inhabitants’ needs, the idea of the competition and the social responsibility – are the main areas of our talks. The meetings confirmed that among the inhabitants there is the need and will of bottom-up cooperation, and the openness of municipalities and Most the Most Foundation support is a sound foundation to restore the former glory of the submitted monuments and to hand them over to be used by local societies.

What is next?

Most the Most Foundation analyses the submitted ideas taking into consideration the answers to the questions in the submission form. Implementing them will be the answer to the needs of local societies. The opinion of the Owner of the monument will be just as crucial and the approval of the monuments conservator – essential. After choosing the best ideas for the social use of the winning monuments and signing contracts with their owners, the Foundation will grant the financing for monuments restoration and adjusting them to the functions selected in the competition. The amount of financing may reach even PLN 1 000 000.
