Knight of the Order of Virtuti Militari, November Uprising insurgent and ideologist of the uprising, but also literary critic and pianist. On November 27, 2021 the remains of Maurycy Mochnacki, with due respect, were transferred from France to Poland. On the same day the Hero was buried at the Powązki Military Cemetery in Warsaw.

On July 5, 2021 the call for entries for the 1st part in a pilot edition of “Our monument” competition finished. Most the Most Foundation received 250 applications of monuments from Lower Silesia and 71 from Podlasie. The proposals are varied, however their common denominator is the bottom-up involvement of local communities and their care for our heritage. Now the selection board will choose one monument from all the entries in each pilot voivodeship. In the next step the inhabitants can apply with the ideas of how they would like to use the chosen monuments after their restoration.
